Matheran

Matheran, one of the most popular hill station in Maharashtra and closest from Mumbai. Biggest attraction of Matheran is not only hills, various points, waterfalls in rainy season but the Mini train which takes you from Neral (station on central railway) to top of the hill. It is must visit place during monsoon. It is paradise for trekkers in monsoon. Other time of year you might find the dust little annoying. It is absolutely pollution-free as no vehicles are allowed in this region. You have either walk or take horses. But these horse bearers ask for obscene amount of money.
